The PSA EW10 2.0 — a genuinely tough, long-lived engine that PSA rated for 300,000+ km and that frequently reaches 350,000–400,000 km on nothing more than regular oil and timing-belt changes. The most durable petrol in the C4. It's belt-driven and interference, so the belt schedule is critical, and the day-to-day niggles are minor: the coil packs aren't its strong point (misfire/rough running), it can weep oil from the cam/crank seals with age and use a little, and worn engine mounts cause vibration. Thirstier and less common, but as close to bulletproof as a 2.0 petrol gets.
