1.8 Hybrid (2ZR-FXE) — Proven verdict. The C-HR Hybrid uses Toyota's proven HSD with the 1.8 2ZR-FXE Atkinson engine — the same superbly reliable system as the Prius and Auris Hybrid. No clutch or conventional gearbox to wear, the engine runs unstressed (and in Atkinson hybrid form doesn't show the oil-burning of the regular 2ZR), and the only real age item is hybrid-battery health. An excellent, low-running-cost used buy; verify the battery state of health and service history.
